If you need a 5-minute sauce that makes everything taste better, this cilantro yogurt sauce is it. It’s creamy, tangy, bright from fresh lime, and loaded with herbs. Think sour cream meets green goddess meets your favorite taco truck drizzle.

One thing about me – I am a sauce queen.

Meals need sauce. Period. A taco without a creamy sauce or burrito bowl sans drizzle? Get outta here.

Homemade sauces are an easy lift that pack a lot of flavor. And this cilantro yogurt sauce is one of my favorites. It’s high protein from Greek yogurt, has a ton of flavor from fresh cilantro and green onions and is balanced with olive oil and lime juice. It makes fajitas feel restaurant-level, it saves dry tacos, it is divine drizzled over roasted potatoes and it’ll give some oomph to any grilled or roasted protein.

If you’re already making tacos, burritos, chicken, nachos, or a grain bowl, just blend this while everything cooks. Boom. Perfect companion to so many easy dinners.

What You’ll Need to Make Cilantro Yogurt Sauce:

Taste and adjust. Add another pinch of salt, extra squeeze of lime, or splash of water, if you want the consistency a little thinner.

Serve with tacos, burritos, fajitas or chicken or rice!

FAQs

What if I don’t like spicy?

This sauce is pretty mild as written but if you’re concerned, omit the jalapeño.

How long does this last?

Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 5 days.

Can I make this dairy-free?

Instead of using dairy-free substitutes, I’d recommend making my jalapeño crema – it’s similar but uses avocado instead of yogurt.

What does cilantro yogurt sauce go with?

Tacos, fajitas, burritos, grain bowls, grilled chicken, grilled shrimp, roasted potatoes or sweet potatoes, quesadillas, nachos, as a dip for raw vegetables or tortilla chips or as a salad dressing for taco salad.
