Lemon Cheesecake Overnight Oats
Dessert for breakfast!? Okkkkk SIGN ME UP. These creamy lemon cheesecake overnight oats are packed with protein, healthy fats and fiber but taste like a slice of lemony cheesecake. This is going to be your new fave quick and easy breakfast!
Have y’all tried lemon curd!? I didn’t get into lemon curd until very recently when I grabbed some from Trader Joe’s and WHAT HAVE I BEEN MISSING MY WHOLE LIFE omg. It’s super tangy and sweet and luscious. Oomph. Just so good.
I’ve been spiraling down a lemon curd rabbit hole searching for any and all excuses to eat it which is what inspired me to make this overnight oatmeal. This has been a major hit with my husband in particular because his favorite flavors are lemon and lime.
Here’s why you’ll love it
- Prep-ahead-able: overnight oats are like, THE meal prep breakfast. Make up 2-4 jars, keep them in the fridge for easy weekday breakfasts. Best part of going to bed is knowing you have these lemon oats in your fridge.
- Healthy, but tastes like dessert: I’m not kidding y’all, these oats are creamy and lemony and sweet but also balanced with whole grains, protein, fiber and micronutrients.
- Quick: the start of my day is nothing short of chaotic with my littles, ESPECIALLY if we have to get out of the house by a certain time. I absolutely rely on the convenience of grabbing my jar of overnight oats from the fridge on busy mornings.
What makes this meal balanced?
Alright let’s break it down:
- Protein: the base overnights oats recipe has 14 grams of protein, with even more if you add a scoop of protein powder! Protein helps keep blood sugar stable and keeps us feeling satisfied until our next meal
- Carbohydrate: oats are a fabulous source of whole grains and fiber, which promote regularity and also help us feel full
- Fats: chia seeds are our main source of fat here- and it’s the super heart-healthy kind of fat- omega 3s! woohoo!
- Micronutrients: this meal is rich in calcium, potassium and when you top with fresh berries- lots of antioxidants!
the perfect breakfast if you ask me!
What you need to make lemon cheesecake overnight oats:
Old-fashioned oats: we are an oatmeal family so we buy the mega box of Quaker rolled oats from Costco, but any brand of oats you love will work here. I have not tried overnight oats with steel-cut oats and my guess would be that it wouldn’t work…but if you try it and it does work, make sure to leave a comment to let others know! You can also use quick oats.
Plain Greek yogurt: Greek yogurt is the primary source of protein and gives some staying power to this meal. I recommend plain because we are sweetening it with lemon curd and we want the lemon flavor to shine through. You can use nonfat Greek yogurt but I like to use 2% as it is creamier and the fat is more satisfying!
Chia seeds: you can find chia seeds in the “health foods” aisle of most grocery stores along with the other nuts, seeds, dried fruit, etc. You can also order online right here.
Lemon curd: lemon curd is a sweet, soft, custard-like spread made from lemons, butter, sugar and eggs. It is used similarly to jam or preserves and you can usually find it with the jams/honey at most grocery stores. I always buy the one at Trader Joe’s!
Whipped cream cheese: okay hear me out. You might feel like this is weird. I understand. But the whipped cream cheese is what gives that cheesecake flavor. I recommend whipped for this recipe as it is lighter and incorporates more seamlessly than regular cream cheese.
Unsweetened almond milk: you can use whichever variety of milk or milk alternative you have on hand (soy milk, oat milk, cashew milk, regular cow’s milk, etc) I like to use unsweetened almond milk.
Toppings: fresh berries, more lemon curd and crumbled graham crackers make this super next level and make it even more reminiscent of lemon cheesecake!
How to Make
Simply stir together your oats, Greek yogurt, chia seeds, lemon curd, cream cheese and almond milk in a mason jar or small bowl and place in the fridge overnight. This recipe is very easy to scale up if you want to make more servings/more jars of overnight oats.
The next morning or when ready to serve, add desired toppings and DIG IN.
How to Store
These lemon cheesecake overnight oats keep wonderfully in the fridge for up to four days. I love using mason jars or these overnight oat jars for storing.

FAQs
If you’re short on time or forgot to make this the night before, no worries! (I’ve been there). Let it sit for an hour and you’re good to go!
Instead of lemon curd you could try 1 teaspoon lemon juice, 1/4 teaspoon lemon zest and 1 teaspoon maple syrup or honey to give it lemony sweetness without the lemon curd.
You can sub in a dairy-free yogurt like coconut yogurt or simply leave the yogurt out. The recipe will be a lot lower in protein without the yogurt so you may want to add a scoop of protein powder or collagen peptides to up the protein.

Hi! I can’t find the actual recipe with ingredients/amounts listed anywhere—not on this blog post or on the TikTok video or anywhere in the comments. I’m so excited to make it so help! Lol 🙂
Oh my goodness what on earth… I’m so sorry, my recipe plugin glitched and just randomly deleted a bunch of my recipes!😩 I have added it back into the post, so so sorry about that!

Thank you for this! What’s the ratio of oats to milk? Is it 1 : 1?
I am so sorry that my recipe card was down, it is back up now with the full recipe!
Awesome, thank you! This looks so delicious — I’m making it right now!
I thought I hated overnight oats, but I just hadn’t made this recipe. Loved the consistency and it kept me full for hours…not an easy feat! I didn’t have lemon curd so I used 1 tsp of real maple syrup and 1 tsp sugar free cheesecake jello mix. Topped with fresh summer strawberries and it was the best breakfast I’ve had in awhile. Thank you!!
Hi Shannon! I’m so glad to here this!! An overnight oats convert YAY!

This recipe is amazing! I was never a fan of overnight oats – but this recipe has changed my mind. It literally is dessert for breakfast without the sugar crash. Thank you so much for sharing!
YAY!!! So glad to hear it!!
We don’t have Trader Joe’s so I bought the closest thing I could find for the lemon curd in my grocery store. I tasted the recipe before adding any toppings to see if I liked it. So, it may be because of the curd I used but 1 teaspoon is not enough for a lemony taste. I added a little more. And it wasn’t sweet at all, it only tasted like plain yogurt, so I added a little bit of maple syrup. THAT made the magic happen! It helped reveal the cheesecake side of it. It made the cheese taste rise to the front. I ate mine with a crumbled Graham cracker and raspberries. DELICIOUS! And super filling.
Next time, spread some lemon curd on top! So good! Glad you liked it 🙂

Oh my goodness! This was absolutely delicious!! I admittedly was a bit skeptical as I’m still learning to like Greek yogurt, but this was a 10/10 for me and my two toddler girls. So excited to have a new breakfast (or dessert) option for spring/summer!
