So here’s the sip.

Iโ€™m an avid water drinker and tend to stay away from sugar-sweetened or artificially sweetened beverages. But sometimes you just gotta make water a little bit more fun!

This has been my go-to combo lately during the summer. I start with a big glass of ice filled mostly with sparkling water, then add splashes of flavor with mango juice and either lemonade or limeade. The result is a zingy mocktail with tropical flair that feels a little special without being fussy.

Itโ€™s easy to make one glass for a single serving or a pitcher to hydrate a crowd. A fun option for kids, pregnancy, anyone skipping alcohol or whoever wants a refreshing drink. It is laughably easy. Enjoy!

What Ingredients Youโ€™ll Need to Make a Mango Mocktail:

picture of the ingredients needed to make the recipe including lemonade, sparkling water, 100% mango juice, fresh mango, and lemon
  • I use 100% mango juice, but for even more mango flavor, opt for mango nectar or spoon in a little fresh mango pulp. Mango nectar is usually a little thicker and it really plays up the sweetness of the mango. You can find these in the juice aisle of the grocery store.
  • Lemonade or limeade adds a bit of sweetness and citrus flavor. You can also use fresh lime juice or lemon juice for the same vibe but with less sugar.
  • I love plain sparkling water (Topo Chico is my favorite), but flavored varieties will work too. Peach Waterloo or coconut La Croix would both be delicious. You can also use soda water or club soda (they’re the same thing) since they have a similar fizz effect.
  • Garnishes: fresh mango slices, lemon slices, lime slices, fresh mint leaves or fresh basil if you’re feeling fancy.

How to Make this Tropical Fruity Mocktail:

Fill a large glass or mason jar with ice. Add the mango juice or nectar, then the lemonade.

Top it all off with sparkling water or club soda. Garnish with fresh fruit, mint or whatever fits your preference!

Variation Ideas

  • Add a sprig of fresh mint and use limeade or fresh lime juice to make it more of a mango mojito mocktail recipe. Use a muddler to gently press the mint before adding the rest of the ingredients.
  • Instead of ice, use frozen mango cubes to reinforce the mango flavor and keep your drink nice and cold.
  • Add a splash of ginger beer or ginger simple syrup for a slightly spicy mango mocktail.
  • Swap out the sparkling water for coconut water for extra electrolytes.
  • Add a few fresh raspberries for color and a tart flavor twist.
  • Make it an Italian soda by adding a splash of cream or half and half.
  • Blend frozen mango, mango juice, limeade and sparkling water for a frozen mango margarita mocktail. Just know the consistency will be thicker and more slushy.
  • Mix a touch of sugar and chili powder to make a chili sugar rim.
  • Make it a fun cocktail by adding an ounce of your favorite spirit.

Cheers to making hydration a little more fun!

FAQs

Can I make this mango mocktail for a crowd?

Yes! Add 12 oz of mango juice or nectar and 6 oz of lemonade to a large pitcher. Give it a gentle stir and keep it chilled in the fridge. When ready to serve, fill the rest of the way with sparkling water. Pour over ice into individual serving glasses and add garnishes right before guests arrive.

How long does this last in the fridge if I make it ahead of time?

The mango juice and lemonade mixture will keep in the fridge for 2โ€“3 days. Wait to add the sparkling water until right before serving so it stays nice and bubbly. Once the sparkling water is added, itโ€™s best enjoyed right away.

Can I use fresh mango purรฉe instead of mango juice?

Yes! You can blend mango into pureรฉ in a high-speed blender or food processor. It will likely be a little less sweet than mango juice, so add a touch of agave nectar or honey as a sweetener, if desired.

Can I use other fruit juices?

Yes! You can substitute the mango juice with pineapple, orange, or even peach juice for different flavor profiles. Use 100% fruit juice (not from concentrate) for the best taste.
