Rosé Spritzer (refreshing wine cocktail recipe)
Bright, light and refreshing, this rosé spritzer is the perfect drink for dinner on the patio, entertaining guests or a day at the lake. It is subtly sweet, perfectly fizzy and a great way to enjoy wine!

I’m not much of a wine gal.
Unless it’s mixed with other delicious things. For example, I LOVE sangria. And I also love this rosé wine spritzer. I’m a big fan of rosé and it is made even better by adding a splash of blood orange soda and sparkly club soda. It makes the rosé a tiny bit sweeter (but not too much!) and quite a lot fizzier (which I love). It is one of my favorite cocktails and you can easily make one glass or scale it up for a crowd.
This is the perfect cocktail for everything from a casual weeknight dinner to a dinner party with friends. This year, I took the ingredients camping, and it was such a refreshing drink to enjoy by the river on a hot summer day. I like that it has less alcohol than most cocktail recipes, has a light flavor and feels almost…hydrating? I know, I know. It’s blasphemy to call a cocktail hydrating, but I said what I said. 😆 This simple rosé spritzer is wildly versatile and basically gives you a formula for using whatever fresh fruit, wine and sparkling water you love!

What you’ll need to make this rosé spritzer recipe:

- You’ll of course want to grab a good bottle of rosé wine that you enjoy, but it doesn’t have to be the most expensive rosé out there. I recommend a slightly sweeter rosé with more fruity flavor over a super dry rosé. I love the Côtes de Provence Rosé wine from Costco or La Ferme Julien from Trader Joe’s. Both are very affordable and make a great wine cocktail.
- While you’re at Trader Joe’s snagging the wine, don’t forget to grab the Villa Italia blood orange Italian soda. If you don’t have access to a Trader Joe’s, you can find similarly flavored soda at a regular grocery store. You could also use raspberry soda or a citrus soda like Sprite.
- Club soda: Also called seltzer water or sparkling mineral water. My favorite is Topo Chico because it is soooo bubbly and refreshing. I prefer plain, but you could also use a flavored variety.
- Fresh fruit: Sliced oranges, lemon slices, lime slices and fresh strawberries make a beautiful garnish for this rosé cocktail!
How to make a rosé spritzer cocktail:
Slice the fruit. Fill one or more wine glasses with crushed ice and fruit. Add the rosé wine, Italian soda and club soda.

Add a little bit of lemon juice or lime juice for extra zip if desired! Cheers!

Variation Ideas:
- Switch up the sweetener: Instead of the blood orange Italian soda you could use 1 oz simple syrup or a flavored liqueur, such as orange or elderflower liqueur. Since these options are more concentrated, use less sweetener and add a little more club soda.
- Switch up the wine: Use your favorite Sauvignon Blanc for a white wine spritzer, Champagne for a Champagne cocktail or Pinot Noir for a red wine spritzer.
- Make it stronger: Listen, you didn’t hear this from me, but a shot of vodka or gin is an excellent addition. OR you could use hard seltzer instead of club soda.
- Try different berries: Use raspberries instead of strawberries to make a raspberry rosé spritzer.
- Add fresh herbs: Garnish with a sprig of mint or a few fresh basil leaves.
- Make fun citrus or berry ice cubes for an even fancier, glam look!

Alright, who’s coming over for cocktail hour!? I’ll make the cheese board, you bring this summertime drink. 🥂
FAQs
Yep! It’ll change the flavor profile just a little but will still be yummy. I’d go for a citrus or berry-flavored seltzer.
Use a similarly flavored soda, such as raspberry or strawberry soda, or substitute 1 oz of simple syrup. If you use simple syrup, add a little extra sparkling water to make up the difference.
Yes! To make a large batch, combine all of the ingredients in a large pitcher and serve immediately over ice. You’ll find the pitcher measurements in the recipe card below.
