Do y’all wanna know how to cure a sweet tooth?
Satisfy it.
Yup. I’m a dietitian and I have a raging sweet tooth. For a long time, I tried to suppress it, eat ‘healthified’ desserts, etc. This is SO embarrassing, but for literal years, I would put a FiberOne oats and chocolate granola bar on a plate, microwave it for a few seconds, eat it with a fork, pretending it was some kind of delicacy.
Like…HALP!?!
Anyway, those days are long gone. But my sweet tooth is not. And now I understand that it is far more effective to eat something that actually satisfies your sweet tooth than to suppress your cravings or trick your brain into believing something bogus is dessert.
Enter: the yogurt dip I’ve had on repeat this fall. Now, this is something I actually consider a wholesome snack! It just also has the benefit of tasting like a real treat. We’ve got Greek yogurt and peanut butter for protein and healthy fats, but also salted caramel and chocolate chips for deliciousness and fun. Balance, ya know?
My girls (ages 4 and 6) love this snack. I whip it up after school and arrange it on a plate with apple slices and cinnamon sugar pretzel twists. Yum. It’s just too good. Oh, and Sunday afternoon football snack, anyone!?! Endlessly versatile and wildly tasty, I can’t wait for y’all this.

What Ingredients You’ll Need for Peanut Butter Yogurt Dip:

- Plain Greek yogurt gives the dip a creamy texture and adds a nice boost of protein. I use nonfat, but 2% or whole milk Greek yogurt works too.
- Creamy peanut butter works best for a smooth, scoopable dip. I use Kirkland’s natural peanut butter, but feel free to use your favorite brand.
- Salted caramel sauce gets mixed into the dip and drizzled on top. My homemade salted caramel syrup is a little thinner, but also works great here.
- Either pure vanilla extract or vanilla bean paste work beautifully!
- Crunchy mix-ins: Mini chocolate chips (or chopped chocolate) add sweetness and roasted, salted peanuts add a little extra saltiness.
- For dipping: Fresh fruit like apple or pear slices, bananas and strawberries all work, along with pretzels, mini rice cakes, graham crackers or even celery sticks. Highly recommend the Dot’s cinnamon sugar pretzel twists or Lundberg Farms salted caramel mini rice cakes. Soooo good!
How to Make this Peanut Butter Yogurt Dip Recipe:
Add the Greek yogurt, peanut butter, salted caramel sauce, vanilla, mini chocolate chips and chopped peanuts to a small mixing bowl. Stir until smooth and creamy.

Transfer to a serving bowl and finish with a drizzle of salted caramel sauce, plus extra chocolate chips and peanuts sprinkled on top, if you’d like.

Serve with sliced apples, pears, bananas, cinnamon sugar pretzels, mini rice cakes, or any of your favorite dippers.
FAQs
Absolutely! You can mix almost everything together ahead of time and keep it in the fridge until you’re ready to serve. I’d wait to stir in the peanuts until right before serving, that way they maintain their crunch. Give it a good stir before serving and add the extra caramel drizzle and toppings right before digging in.
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 4 days. Give the dip a quick stir before serving. I wouldn’t recommend freezing it since Greek yogurt can be weird and watery once thawed.
You can, but regular yogurt has a thinner consistency, so the dip won’t be quite as thick and creamy.
Yep! Use a thick, plain dairy-free yogurt and make sure your caramel sauce and chocolate chips are dairy-free, too.
I love the caramel sauce recipe in my first e-cookbook right here; this salted caramel syrup or a good-quality store-bought caramel is a good option too.

A sweet treat the entire family can get behind. YUM 😋
