Description

This tropical margarita blends tequila, pineapple juice, creamy coconut, and lime for a refreshing, tropical spin on a classic cocktail. Perfect by the glass or by the pitcher!


Ingredients

By the glass:

Lime sugar rim:

  • zest from one whole lime
  • 1-2 tablespoons sugar

By the pitcher:


Instructions

  1. In a small, shallow bowl combine sugar and lime zest to make the lime sugar.
  2. Fill a cocktail shaker with ice. Add 2oz tequila, 2oz pineapple juice, 1 ½ oz coconut cream, ¾ oz lime juice and ½ oz agave syrup. Shake vigorously until combined.
  3. Run a lime wedge around the rim of a short glass to moisten. Dip the glass into the lime sugar. Fill glass with ice.
  4. Pour margarita over ice, garnish with a lime slice or pineapple wedge and BOTTOMS UP.
  5. Pitcher: combine all ingredients in a large pitcher and stir vigorously. Serve over ice in glasses with a lime sugar rim.


Notes

You can use cream of coconut instead of coconut cream but if you do, omit the agave. Although they sound very similar, they are quite different. Coconut cream is unsweetened and cream of coconut is heavily sweetened and syrupy.
